Opportunity: Beonthescene.com Creative Network

If there’s one lesson that I have learnt from my years as a freelance writer, it’s the value of networking, and connecting not just with professionals in the industry, but likeminded individuals as well. Connecting with creatives through online communities or at events can be a great way to showcase your skills. With this in mind, I am introducing Beonthescene.com to Arts Blurb, which is a project that welcomes all kinds of creatives, from writers to comics, from singers and bands, to models, fashion designers, and photographers.

The site aims to be a platform where members can build a portfolio showcasing their creative skills, find valuable contacts, share ideas, and perhaps gain work from other members as well. Agents, management and other potential employers are welcomed on the site, along with creative members, so you never know who your work may be seen by!

There are three levels of membership to the site, standard (free), and silver/gold which you pay for. Depending on which level of membership you choose, you could have access to features such as personal web profiles, blogs, promotion of your profile and up-coming events, and discounts with partner companies offering photo shoots, vocal coaching, web hosting and more. If you’re a paid-up member of the site you’ll also have the opportunity to take part in BeOnTheScene fashion, music, or other creative events, and have your work brought to the attention of people in the industry, who may just be looking for the next big thing!

If you take a look around the continually growing website community, you’ll see that some of its members already have success stories to tell, as a result of being involved with the site. One of these members is Tom Bradley, a freelance filmmaker from Kent, who says about the site:

“I have secured work projects not only by meeting people through the community, but through recommendations following the work I’ve done for beOnTheScene.com directly too. I really believe that the community is perfect for those people starting out in their creative field as it gives immediate exposure to potential employers and clients alike. It also helps to build important and lasting industry connections – as I have been fortunate enough to.”

If you’ve got a talent to share, then this could be the opportunity for you, so why not visit the site, attend one of their events, or check out the membership options available, and see how each could benefit you and your creative ambitions.

Visit www.beonthescene.com for more information, or find the community on Twitter (www.twitter.com/beonthescene) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/beonthescene)
